For a new liquid spill on fitted carpet, press a clean white absorbent cloth or plain white paper towel onto it. Lift and repeat without rubbing. Gently remove solids first. If you use a carpet cleaner, test it in a hidden area and follow its directions. Do not soak the backing or mix household chemicals. Stop if color transfers or texture changes.
